Coco Gauff, the American sensation, makes her debut in the US Open final.

Coco Gauff is set to compete for her inaugural Grand Slam singles championship at the U.S. Open this Saturday.

A 19-year-old American beat Karolina Muchova from the Czech Republic 6-4, 7-5 on Thursday night to reach the final.

Gauff aims to be the first American woman to win in New York since 2017.

"Means a lot to be in the final, a lot to celebrate, but the job is not done," Gauff said after her semifinal win.

In the first set, Gauff quickly took a 5-1 lead because Muchova was nervous and made mistakes.

The lead went from 5-1 to 5-4 as Muchova got better. But with support from the New York crowd, Gauff won the set 6-4.
